This good-looking dog, known in the kennel as Sailor, was privately purchased as another joint venture, like Chasing Landy and Mustang Highway, where we at Noduff Racing hold one of a select number of shares.

Sailor oon became something of a kennel star, notching up three wins in his first eight runs. His victory in A8 was particularly special as he had to come from behind to win having previously led all the way. He was pulling away at the line so it would be interesting to see how much further up the grades he could go.

Sailor’s running style gradually changed. His early pace increased and he struggled slightly to get home and hold his position. He won in A7 but then struggled in A6, failing to get his nose in front on eight occasions. It was success however at the ninth time of asking. Having won in A7 again, he was upgraded to A6 and promptly missed the break but he showed really good pace and acceleration to lead at the first bend and hang on to win in his fastest time of 29.16. If getting the start right, an A5 win and a hat trick was certainly not beyond him!
