8.9.21. Following their respective wins last time out in A4, both from trap 5, it was almost inevitable that Supreme Odin and Noduff Aria (both pictured) would be drawn to face each other in an A3. So it was in today’s first race at Monmore Green with Luigi drawn in trap 5 again and Fred, the only wide runner, drawn in six.

Luigi looked to be the certain leader and Fred, as always was expected to tuck in behind and finish strongly. Races seldom pan out as they should however but both dogs ran exactly to script. Luigi did trap well enough, was in front by the winning line first time round and remained so throughout to win by just over a length.

Fred ran in his inimitable fashion – last at the second bend then threading his way through the pack. The one dog was in his way at the final bend sending him wide and he eventually finished a close third. Both safe and very pleased with themselves.
